Check out the Colchester East Hants Public Library web site for cool new teen programs available!
The public library offers a Book Buddies program where teens can volunteer to read and participate in literacy activities with children ages 5-9 who are reluctant readers. This program is offered at various branches so be sure to check the website at www.lovemylibrary.ca or the link provided on the SCA Library Blog for details such as times, and dates! Teens who participate in Book Buddies will receive a certificate at the end of the program documenting their volunteer hours!

The Truro Branch of the public library has a new program starting Friday September 28th for teens who love Manga/Anime!  The new Manga/Anime club will meet this Friday from 6-8pm.  Future dates of the club will be decided at this meeting.  Teens will access to the manga in the library collection and are also welcome to bring their own manga to share, loan, or trade.  Stop by the library or phone 895-0235 for more details and to register!

Fall In Love with Reading....

Check out the SCA library's new contest and "Fall in Love With Reading"!  Simply stop by the library and fill out a book recommendation form suggesting a good book that you read over the summer - your recommendation will be attached to a leaf and added to the library window display.  All entries receive a small prize and all students who fill out a form will have their name entered into a draw for a larger prize at the end of the month!
See - it is so easy to "fall in love with reading" isn't it?
